15th National Convention of the Carmelite Third Order - Part 1

 Opening Mass of the Convention at the International Shrine of Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage, Antipolo City on 14th June 2024. The Mass of the Holy Spirit was presided by His Excellency, Most Reverend Ruperto Santos, DD, Bishop of Antipolo together with the cleric members of the Third Order of Carmel.

Not All are Called to the Religious Life

The Third Order is the branch of the Carmelite Order for lay people and diocesan clergy who, by the profession of promises, make a formal and public commitment to living the Carmelite way of life. Members of the Third Order, or 'tertiaries', live the Carmelite charism and practice the Evangelical Counsels of poverty, chastity and obedience according to their personal state in life.

The Third Order of Carmelites wishes to congratulate Rev. Fr. Jesus Salonga Wenceslao, TOC, on his upcoming ordination to the Sacred Order of Presbyters on the Feast of the Immaculate Concepcion on December 8, 2021. He is one of the three scheduled for ordination.

Fr. Wenceslao belongs to the St. John Paul II TOC Community in UST Central Seminary.

Members of the Third Order of Carmelites and the Carmelite Confraternities all over the country celebrated the feast day of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel in their own little way last July 16. Here is a look at some of the communities:
